Observation in Paediatric Case taking

Course content
- Observation in Paediatric Case taking
Description
In homeopathy, all relevant information (symptoms/ signs/ history, etc.) on the patient is brought out and correlated with the Materia Medica and Repertory in order to select the right Remedy. There are various methods of prescribing but case taking is very important.
But sometimes in acute conditions or in pediatric patients detailed case taking is not possible. In such cases observations of pediatric patients in the waiting room help in prescription. Observations like physical appearance, facial expressions, body language, attitude, gaze, look, eye contact, gesture, mode of talking and mental and emotional status and many other things are very much helpful. Physical examination and laboratory investigations are also important. Also affection, imitation, grasping, irritability, posture, gluttony and many more also help in prescription.
Also in the case of babies or in patients symptoms cannot be collected well then based on the constitutional remedy of parents’ a remedy for the child can be prescribed. Here the constitutional remedy of father to female baby and that of mother to male baby works well.
Dr. Amiya Goswami will talk about selecting remedies for pediatric patients. Dr. Amiya Goswami will also talk about how to observe a child in the clinic and then prescribe where detailed case taking is not possible may be due to acute illness or other reasons.
