Homeopathy is based on two theories “Like cures like” and “Law of minimum dose”.
Homeopathic medicines are prepared by a process called potentization. It means homeopathic medicine is greatly diluted. One of the theories behind this is the “Law of minimum dose”.According to this,lower the dose of the medication, greater is the effectiveness. And many homeopathic preparations are so diluted thatthere are no molecules of the original substance in the solution and it is practically impossible to measure the molecules of the original substance called the “active ingredient“. Thus the concept of potentization is the main controversy associated with homeopathy.
In order to practically find out the presence of “Active ingredient” in the diluted solution, Dr. E. S. Rajendran carried out series of studies using a High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM). He observed the highly diluted samples of homeopathic medicines using HRTEM. He practically demonstrated the presence of molecules of “Active ingredient” in the diluted solution.
It is very interesting to learn about the role of microscopy in studying homeopathic principles.Dr. E. S. Rajendran will talk about the microscopic techniques used in the study to find out the presence of molecules of homeopathic remedies in diluted samples.
Further, he is will talk about the possible mechanismof action of homeopathic remedies, “The Nanodynamics”.
